ENSI® Cores
Toroidal Cores

Toroidal cores are used in instrument transformers, power transformers, inductors, transducers and variable transformers.

ENPAY produces toroidal cores in many different dimensions, made to order to customer specifications according to DIN 42311 or any other country standards.

Oval, rectangular, cross-section, cut (air gapped) toroidal cores are in our production program.

We are able to offer short lead-times thanks to our large mandrel capacity and extensive stock. Extra charge for mandrels is not asked for when enough economic quantity is ordered.

Bare cores (not varnished), impregnated cores, epoxy coated cores are produced according to customers specifications. Fully insulated magnetic cores for high-voltage oil type instrument transformers are in our production program. We have designed an insulation especially for the protection of the edges of cores. This insulation protects the edges during the production, especially during coil-winding process.

HVDC Transmission C-Cores


ENPAY manufactures also all type of C-Core for HVDC Transmission system. The specific characteristics of these cores are measured in High Voltage DC Laboratory.


   



C and E Cores

C-Cores are strip wound, impregnated and cut into two halves. Since these cores are assembled around the bobbins in a very short time it takes less time to manufacture the transformer.

C-Cores are produced from silicon steel, NiFe materials and from Amorphous metals. Since these are used in pairs each half is marked with a point.

Cut Surface Rectification

ENPAY® produces C-Cores in different specifications as required by customers.

Surface Quality A:
These C-Cores are produced from silicon-steel. According to DIN 41309 the maximum allowed air-gap is = µm for surface quality A.

Surface Quality C:
Cut surfaces are rectified so fine that the air gap is brought to minimum.

Cut Cores

Cut cores are manufactured according to customer specifications. Cut surfaces are rectified to form qualities A and C. These types of cores are used in the production of chokes, combined instrument transformers and specially designed transformers.

Cut cores are assembled with a certain air-gap between the pieces, insulation pieces are placed in the gaps during the assembly of bobbins. Cut surfaces of these cores can be round, oval and rectangular.

Electro-magnetic tests of cut-cores are performed before cores are cut. Special tests can be performed if required by customers. For stacking factor and measurement tolerances please see the following table.

Distributed Gap Cores

Distributed Gap Core is similar in shape to a C-Core, however it has only one gap in once of the limbs. Unlike C-Cores, each and every layer of strips have only one cut, thus core has extremely low core losses.
Other advantages for Distributed Gap Cores comprise the reduction of assembly time and savings in cooper. Iron losses are less than 1.6 Watt/kg at an induction of 1.7 Tesla, which means that the magnetic performance of Distributed Gap Cores is similar to that of Toroidal Cores.

Special Wound Cores



Special cores are wound cores which are produced in different shapes from toroidal, C and E cores, like rectangular, oval, jaw etc. You can see the picture of special cores that are produced by ENPAY®, below.

Transductor Cores: These types of transformer cores are used in the current carrier at the end of high power transformers.

Rectangular Cores: These type of cores are used in chokes, rectifiers, amplifiers, switching and memory equipments, inverters, other switch mode equipments ENPAY® can produce different types of these cores in different measures.


Oval Cores: These types of cores are used in chokes, rectifiers, amplifiers, switching and memory equipments, invertes, other switch mode equipments. ENPAY® can produce different types of these cores in different measures. Jaw Cores (Transducer Cores): These types of cores are used in measurement tools. ENPAY® can produce different types and shapes of these cores in different measures.
